Created with time-honored techniques that have been thriving in cultures around the world for centuries, the Nought Vase Set includes two vessels made of terracotta. The lost wax process used to create them ensures the jugs exhibit an artisanal attribute: where the vases are terracotta-colored, the wax prevented their surfaces from taking the black glazing. This is a painterly technique that results in appealing surfaces that have been perfected over ages.
